Our Figures Aren’t Designed to Please Everyone
Share
We don’t develop with algorithms in mind. We don’t build safe. And we don’t select sculpts to chase a reaction.
At Dastardly & Delightful, we turn down more sculpts than we approve.
Not because they’re bad.
Because they’re obvious.
Some figures are clean, stylish, even seductive — but they don’t carry weight. They don’t challenge. They don’t hold. And we’re not here to mass-please or mass-produce. We’re here to release forms that feel resolved, not optimised.
That means some of our releases will be divisive. Some are deliberately sharp. Some lean too far into elegance, others into excess. Not every collector will connect with every piece. That’s by design.
You won’t find formulaic pinups here. You won’t see base swaps to chase theme months. And we won’t compromise a sculpt’s identity just to make it easier to sell.
We exist for the kind of collector who wants something different — not louder, not trendier — just different on purpose.
This is the restraint most brands don’t talk about.
And the reason our work doesn’t look like anyone else’s.
